I am Chris Calvert, and I am the CEO of Millgate. I helped establish Millgate in 1996, and I officially joined the company in 1997 as Financial Director. In 2007 I bought out the company to become the sole owner. In my personal time I enjoy socialising and travelling, often going on holidays around the world. What inspires me at Millgate is talking to people, like my staff, our customers and suppliers, as this is how you cut through the hype to learn what is really going on with them. I want Millgate to grow, year on year, and learning how we can improve inspires me every day.
I’m Amy and the HR Manager, and I joined Millgate in January 2022. I have always worked in HR roles since graduating. Prior to working here, I have work in food manufacturing and the healthcare sector. Joining Millgate felt like a new challenge in a new sector which has so far proved true. Outside of work, much of my time is spent facilitating my son’s various football activities. Supporting Manchester City is a rule in our house. Outside of the football season I enjoy eating out and gardening. My favourite quote is “keep calm and call HR”. I am motivated by seeing the impact I have on both the business and an individual performance. Working in HR we must balance our delivery for the business whilst ensuring our employee are supported in all stages of the employee lifecycle. It is true that there are no two days in the same in HR!
Having landed in telecoms on the back of my first job after university working as a sales recruiter, I’ve subsequently spent over 22 years in the industry. Setting off with only a phone, a set of car keys and an A-Z in hand I spent the next 14 years progressing my sales career at EE (formerly Orange) whilst gaining valuable knowledge and insight across a wide range of sectors. The opportunity arose for a Director of Account Management at a small Leeds based telecoms company and I jumped at the chance to take on a leadership role. Working for a small company provided a broad array of hands-on experience and my appreciation of the need for front line demands and back-office requirements to complement each other to build a strong company that will achieve long term sustained success is what I bring to Millgate. I live in Leeds with my partner, three children, and two rescue cats (the less said about the cats the better…)
I am Stacey Clarke and I am Director of Operations & Service Delivery. I have been with Millgate for 5 years now and have seen quite a lot of positive changes along the way. From implementation of structure and new, improved systems to an abundance of exciting new roles and departments to better enable us to deliver for our clients. My favourite quote is “Say what you mean, mean what you say & Do what you say…”. The thing that inspires me most at Millgate is that the people I work with have a genuine passion about Millgate being a big part of their lives, the people they work with, the success of the team and driving continuous positive change to achieve our goals. In my time off I enjoy football, music and spending lots of time with my family.
I’m John Williams, Sales and Marketing Director for Millgate. My role is focused around delivering partner growth, strategic planning and people development which I am extremely passionate about.
Over the past 18 years my experience has included working within distribution, vendor and resellers across the IT and Telecoms industries. From my experience I appreciate exactly how important each stage of the sales process is from manufacturer to distributor, to reseller to our customers. I see all four stages as key partners to our business.
My very first taste of sales was as a holiday representative in Barcelona as a 19 year old, so I quickly had to learn how to manage customers high expectations, something that has stayed with me throughout career.
Outside of Millgate I coach both senior (men’s) and junior (girls) football teams, and I spend a lot of time seeing live music and travelling.
