Why You Should Work With Us

Tracy Carr, Service Delivery Manager

Hello, my name is Tracy, and I’m a Service Delivery Manager at Millgate. As Connect had only just started in 2012 my initial position was provisioning and customer service. As the business grew and we started to provide more services, I then managed the customer service and provisioning team. My journey has been a rollercoaster with its up and downs but overall I have enjoyed it. My motivation is having been with Connect from the start, I’m driven to see us do well, retain customers and be the best we can be. My favourite quote is “No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else” from The Greatest Showman. My pride and joy is my little 9-year-old boy. People wouldn’t think it but my favourite past time is playing Fortnite! I’m quite a bubbly and outgoing person with a dry sense of humour.

Shaun Miller, Operations and Quality Manager

Hi, I’m Shaun and I’m the Operations and Quality Manager at Millgate. I began at Millgate in February 2022 as a Sales Operations Leader but have grown into a higher position due to management trusting me with more responsibilities. I’m a big music lover, play several instruments and play regularly in a band in my down time. I’m also vegan (it’s mandatory that I tell you this, obviously), and I like to think that I’m a good chef, but the broken pots and pans would probably disagree. A quote that inspires me is “Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today”. I try and bear this quote in mind when thinking about my career or thinking about how good / bad I am at an instrument. At Millgate I have a great sense of satisfaction doing a good job and helping improve the business I am in.

Matt Barrett, Account Manager

I’m Matt and I am an Account Manager at Millgate. I came to Millgate from another reseller, having spent 11 years there. I was given the opportunity to try my hand here and offered a new way of supporting my customers. After working at a larger reseller and not having total control over the sales process Millgate was a breath of fresh air. I’m inspired by others and their stories, not necessarily of success but their life and challenges. A quote from Terminator is one that drives me: “There is no fate but what we make!” It’s true, there’s no luck whether that be good or bad, it’s all about how you position yourself in your current situation. I live with my wife and son and we have a dog and 2 cats. I love going out walking with the dog and at weekends spend time hunting round antique fairs and shops. I’m a numismatist (look it up), but I also collect lots of other antiques and collectibles.

Danielle Beaver, HR Assistant

Hi, I’m Danielle and I’m one of the HR Assistants at Millgate. I started at Millgate 8 months ago, now started my CIPD in September aiming towards a Level 5 CIPD Qualification. In my free time, I love spending time my family and my little doggy! I am also a foodie so enjoy going out for nice meals! My favourite quote is “Your imperfections make you perfect”. I love this quote as it reminds you can’t be “perfect” at everything, and you are perfect as you are. I enjoy working here because Millgate is so welcoming and supportive, that I feel I can be strategic thinking and put forward my finding and thoughts and they will be listened to and actioned. I feel extremely valued at Millgate from both a professional and personal perspective.

Jason Wood, Stores Assistant

I’m Jason and I’m a Stores Assistant. I came into the business with very little warehousing experience and since starting at Millgate, I have been mentored by my manager to become very capable in my job role. My confidence has increased, and my abilities are beginning to be recognised by others. I have also been given extra responsibilities such as inducting new starters in Health & Safety. Outside of work, I spend my time as an instructor in the Army Cadet Force, which I’ve been doing for nearly 14 years. This can take up a lot of my free time, but I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it. I like the quote “Success is not final; failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts”. I have a fantastic manager, who I have a great working relationship with. Coming from a military background, respect is a big thing for me, and it should be reciprocated if it is to be given. It is clear I am both respected and valued by the way I am treated here, and this motivates me to do my best work for the company.
